Fashion week street style : The Boyfriend Jeans

I secretly have to admit that I always look forward to the fashion week street styles as same as I look forward to the shows. Coco Chanel once said that fashion is on the street. Street style gives you more accessible inspiration and can be easily copied. This year I was impressed by the street style during the Stockholm fashion week. Especially the looks that included the awesome boyfriend jeans. I love the combination of a girlish accessory and a faded boyfriend jeans….

Interior Inspo: Aztec living

I already declared my love for Aztec prints and Kelim elsewhere on Hippy in High Heels, that was only fashion wise.
I love the Etnic prints even more in Interiors. Only a simple Kelim fabric rug or pillow immediately add a global touch to the interior and make you wish you where somewhere far away ;).

Some interiors for a little inspiration

Hippy Travel: Marrakech

One of my favorite destinations is Marrakech, I've visited a couple of years ago and fell instantly in love with this magical city.
The scent of orange blossom, musk, sweet mint tea, and the buzz in the old Medina just sweep you of your feet.
After sunset, the Jemnaa El Fna Square prepares for action. Snake charmers, fortune tellers, shrieking monkeys and an amazing amount of food stalls ( that smell heavenly by the way!) fill the square. After wandering around, take place at Café de France for some mint tea with an outlook over the Jemnaa El Fna! The perfect way to end a magical day.

Vanessa Branson (yes, Richard's daughter) fell in love with a large townhouse just on the edge of the Marrakech Medina. She turned it into a hotel with 21 luxurious guest rooms, a spa, and 3 swimming pools. The hotel features everything you could possibly wish for during your stay and at the same time the hotel remains true to its heritage, with historical elements clearly visible.

I keep longing to return to Marrakech, for now I will just visit my local hamam for a little 'reliving the moment' and try to save up to stay at this truly amazing hotel….

Yeah Jimi Yeah

Good news for all those sixties music lovers….
After a Jimi Hendrix inspired clothing line at Bloomingdales and a 70th birthday celebration comes a new album with never before released songs, a little musical gift from the sixties ;).

The twelve songs are captured on People, Hell & Angels, which will be released March first.

People, Hell & Angels gives more insight into the genius of Jimi Hendrix. Other than his Jimi Hendrix Experience trio, Jimi Hendrix works here with new rhythm sections and instrumentation.

Obviously I cannot wait!

Starbucks and The City

For all those coffee and New York lovers out there: Starbucks and The City, a caffeinated journey through the streets of Manhattan.

This blog,  is written by someone who recently moved to New York and discovers the city in this cool way. Manhattan has over 200 Starbucks shops, you'll literally stumble over the logo on every street corner.

The Blog gives you, next to the quality of the Starbucks, an impression of the crowd and neighbourhood  and of course a quick coffee review ;).

I love Starbucks, first of all because of the coffee and free wifi, but secondly you really get a little peek at the city's in crowd over there like local bloggers, friends out on a day shopping, and moms desperate for a little energy boost. While living and working in Paris I always visited the Starbucks across the Opera, where I worked on my study, catched up with the latest Vogue and Elle, or I would lose myself in a good book. Every morning I still drink from my Paris Starbucks mug, not very Parisian, but sure a fun reminder ;).

Eating my way through New York, Lower East Side

This foodie was so obsessed by everything she tasted that its just too much for one blog post, so be prepared ;) Just kidding, I will try to stick to my absolute favorites.
Our apartment was located in the Lower East Side, surrounded by East Village, Little Italy, Chinatown and the amazing SOHO!

First stop was Russ & Daughters, a New York landmark when it comes to fine smoked fish, quality caviar and specialty foods. Its starts already in the queue, the shop is run by the fourth generation of the Russ family, where you can admire friendly family pictures from the current and past. The shop is super popular among the New York in crowd with people cramming up at the door on sunday morning, causing a 2 hour long waiting line!! But oh men that lox and cram cheese bagel is more than worth it!

This is definitely heaven for salmon bagel lovers like myself ;). You can choose from a wide range of fishy bagels and an ever bigger range of cream cheeses, take your bagel to another level with caviar cream cheese for example ;).

Every morning I woke up early to pick up some healthy muffins, fruit and coconut water at Wholefoods, O my why don't we have a Wholefoods in Holland?

Located just across our apartment was one of the coolest wine stores I've ever seen, September wines and spirits. Because of the holiday season all the wine bottles were decorated with a little red bow. September wines is a wine dealer that sells earth-friendly wines and supports smaller wineries from all around the world. This store is worth the visit of you are a wine lover! If you happen to be in New York, keep an eye on September's website since they organize regular wine tastings.

And last but not least I tasted the best New England Clam Chowder at a lobster joint on Houston Street, when I got home I was obsessed by finding the perfect recipe to recreate this heavenly soup, I my search was successful, I will show you the results of course!

Ok and when it comes to cupcakes…. That will be a whole new other post!
